The cottage is located in the pretty village of Acomb close to the River Tyne, with its own pub/restaurant, local farm shops, walking and cycle routes from the cottage. Stroll through countryside to the historic market town of Hexham where you can explore a range of shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants, visit the Abbey, spend a day at the races, stroll along the riverbanks or picnic in the park. The World Heritage Site of Hadrian’s Wall is only a 3-mile walk, at the edge of the Northumberland National Park and Roman Vindolanda is a great day out. Discover Aydon Castle and then the quaint shops and places to eat and drink amongst the ancient Roman garrison streets in Corbridge.

This beautiful property adjoins the owner’s home and has its own private entrance. You come into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where the underfloor heating warms your feet. The kitchen includes an electric oven and two-ring hob, fridge, dishwasher and there is a dining table with seating for two by the window. The contemporary shower room has a shower and WC. Heading up the stairs, you will find the spacious double bedroom with high ceilings, dual aspect windows with views of open countryside and exposed beams adding to the sense of space and calm.

Outside, you have access to the owner’s patio garden with a table and chairs where you can enjoy a drink and dine alfresco. There is space to leave your bikes and an outside tap to rinse them off. There is roadside parking adjacent to the cottage, subject to availability.

Quiet, cosy and has a small but well equipped kitchen. A generous welcome tray. Comfy bed. Close to the Hadrians Wall Roman sites and located near to the major road that runs between Carlisle and Newcastle. A great place to stay.

We stayed for a week. Lovely hosts and area is very well kept and quiet. 3 small pubs near by ideal if youre in a pinch. Property was very clean and decorated nicely. Only down side to the property was there is no microwave, no freezer and the bed is only a double. We struggled with these even staying for a week staying longer would be much more diRead morefficult. Hide
