Set amongst the grounds of an attractive farm, located just a ten minute drive (approximately) from the popular market town of Hexham and only a 25 minute drive from the vibrant city of Newcastle, this well-equipped small studio, on the outskirts of Riding Mill village, is the perfect spot for a country break. It is located near a number of Dark Sky Discovery sites, so ensure you pack warm clothing and binoculars for a star gazing experience. On a clear night, you can see thousands of stars, recognise constellations such as Orion and maybe even see the International Space Station as it orbits the earth. Just a short drive away, you’ll find historic Corbridge, once known as Corstopitum, a Roman garrison town by Hadrian’s Wall with a crossing over the River Tyne. These days, it’s home to beautiful independent shops, and the annual Corbridge Festival, celebrating music and street theatre. Head to Hexham to experience the area’s Viking history, with its ancient Abbey and atmospheric gaol – the earliest British prison. Visit Vindolanda, a Roman settlement which is the most extensive site to be seen along Hadrian’s Wall. Other attractions in the area include Housesteads Fort which offers plenty of scenic walks or Hareshaw Linn waterfall in Northumberland National Park. The open plan lounge and bedroom area, provides contemporary home comforts including a TV/DVD, Wi-Fi, a wall-mounted electric fire and two arm-chairs. There is a cosy (standard size) double bed, with reading lamps. Storage includes a small chest of drawers and an alcove for hanging clothes. The small shower room includes a shower cubicle, WC and `hand-basin.
The garden area at the top of the drive has a small deck with table and chairs providing scenic views of the beautiful surrounding countryside. There is allocated parking available for one car.
