The popular, historic city of Durham is only 12 miles away and offers a wide range of shops, restaurants, pubs and places to visit, including the world-famous cathedral. Also nearby are the North Pennines, which are ideal for walkers, cyclists and mountain bikers, with stunning landscapes, heather-covered moors and rugged peat lands. Remaining on the farm, you can see animals including cattle and sheep, or explore the farmland where you will find a nature trail, riverside paths, an ancient monument, playing field and even a medieval moat.
On entering this charming and traditional single-floor holiday cottage you will find yourself in a cosy and welcoming lounge. With exposed beams and original stone feature wall, this is a quaint but attractive room to relax in, complete with TV/DVD and stylish furnishings. Moving into the bright kitchen/diner, you will find a delightful dining area and a beautifully designed kitchen, fully equipped with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer and microwave. Exploring this lovely cottage further, you will find a comfy double bedroom and a bathroom complete with shower over the bath and WC.
Stepping outside, you can sit back in a private seating area. The farm shop and cafe are within walking distance, and you can also make use of the on-site games room which is shared with the other properties, which offers air hockey, table football and table tennis. You are also invited to explore up to 100 acres of farmland. There are shared play facilities including a children’s paddock with sand pit, an indoor play corner and opportunities to ride on the tractors. There is also a shared utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.
