Beautifully presented cottage, fully equipped with modern appliances. This was our second visit and it was just as good as the first. We enjoyed our visit to the area around Durban despite unfortunately some inclement weather but hey, it was mid-sept. The cottage was very comfortable and gave us a good base as a location to set off from everyday. We saw some lovely sunrise sky on a couple of days as we had our breakfast.

Our second stay in this beautiful cottage, a true home from home. Perfect for exploring Weardale, Northumberland and County Durham. Surrounded by lovely views, unfortunately, the Northern Lights didn't show up until the day we came home, but we'll be back to try and catch them again.

Once again we had a lovely week at Smiddy Shaw cottage. This is a really comfortable cottage and has every thing you could want to make your stay a good one.
